Hand Rejuvenation

Hand Rejuvenation

The skin on our hands reveals telltale signs of aging just as much as our facial skin. However, hand rejuvenation treatments can provide a youthful appearance for the hands using the same skin care procedures designed to enhance the face. IPL treatments can effectively reduce sunspots and smooth texture while filler injections add volume to the treatment area. At Nexx, we offer a wide-range of cosmetic procedures to improve the aesthetics of the hands.

How to Treat – Alone or in Combination

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are soft tissue fillers that are injected into areas of the skin to fill out wrinkles and thereby restore a smoother and more youthful appearance. For hand rejuvenation, certain types of fillers can add natural volume, giving you a smoother and youthful appearing hands. The results will vary according to the patient, aesthetic goals, and the type of dermal filler that is used.

One of the most important benefits of dermal fillers is the immediate result. Fillers are made of hyaluronic acid which is a clear, gooey substance that is naturally produced by your body. Its main function is to retain water to keep your tissues well lubricated and hydrated.

Morpheus8

The state-of-the-art Morpheus 8™ is the first and only full-body subdermal adipose remodeling device, to target the deepest layers of the skin using radiofrequency technology. Radiofrequency technology is the gold standard for skin tightening and combined with this resurfacing treatment, it can smooth the skin texture caused by aging, sun damage, scars and stretch marks with very minimal downtime.

Microneedling

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT) and skin needling, is a noninvasive procedure that stimulates new collagen production. Using microneedles, tiny punctures induce collagen and elastin production, resulting in more youthful appearing skin. The release of these properties aid in repairing the texture and resiliency of the skin. Microneedling addresses minor skin concerns such as skin laxity, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scarring, stretch marks, and skin discolorations.

  • Procedure time: 30 minutes
  • Anesthesia: topical numbing cream
  • Pain level: Mild
  • Recovery time: 1 day
  • Results: 7-10 days
  • Treatment effects: best seen with multiple treatments and maintenance over 3-6 months.

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has been shown to have numerous growth factors that enhance the body's own response in collagen production. PRP therapy involves collecting a patient's own blood and spinning it down into a concentrate of plasma that has a high platelet concentration. This is then injected back into the candidate's skin. Given that the material that is injected into skin is obtained from the patient, the risk of reaction is close to none.

  • Procedure time: 45-60 minutes
  • Anesthesia: topical numbing cream
  • Pain level: none to mild
  • Recovery time: less than 1 day
  • Results: within 3-4 weeks
  • Treatment effects: best seen with multiple treatments and maintenance over 6-9 months.

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a skin resurfacing technique to improve the appearance of the skin. A solution is applied to the skin which causes it to exfoliate and "peel off". There are many chemical peels available that range from superficial to deep. The choice depends on the desired depth of penetration, treatment effect, and recovery time. Typically, the deeper the peel, the greater the results, but they are also associated with greater recovery period and adverse effects.

  • Procedure time: 15 minutes
  • Anesthesia: not required
  • Pain level: none
  • Recovery time: none
  • Results: within 7 – 10 days
  • Treatment effects: best seen with multiple treatments and maintenance over 3-6 months.

IPL PhotoFacial

IPL, or intense pulsed light, have become increasingly popular as a noninvasive, no downtime treatment to improve the appearance of skin tone and texture. IPL sessions do not cause the skin to peel and flake aggressively. Instead, IPL allows patients to have a more gradual improvement in the skin over several sessions with the added benefit of minimal recovery or side effects.

During treatment, scattered light energy produced by IPL is used to target uneven pigment and blemishes in the skin. The light penetrates into the dermis without harming the top layer of the skin. This causes less damage than other laser skin resurfacing treatments. The heat created by the IPL device within the pigment cells destroys the unwanted pigment, causing the redness or dark spots to fade away over time.

The goal of IPL is to reduce the appearance of skin tone and texture irregularities such as sun spots, dark spots, freckles, redness, rosacea, broken capillaries, and certain birthmarks. A neck treatment with IPL is best combined with a full face and/or décolleté.

  • Procedure time: 10-15 minutes
  • Anesthesia: none
  • Pain level: mild
  • Recovery time: minimal
  • Results: within days to 1 week
  • Treatment effects: Indefinitely with regular maintenance treatments.
