What is the Forma treatment?

Designed by two top Beverly Hills board-certified dermatologists, Dr. Richard Fitzpatrick and Dr. Harold Lancer, Forma is a non-invasive aesthetic procedure. It uses radio frequency to gently heat the deep layers of your skin. This in turn stimulates the skin's natural restorative capacities by increasing collagen production resulting  in reduced wrinkles and fine lines.


The Forma aesthetic treatment is essentially a medical procedure that works to re-define the facial contours by restoring a more youthful and harmonious appearance. It can help decrease the signs of aging on the face and neck such as excessive fat deposits and loose skin. With the help of advanced technology, this procedure is effective at treating most adult patients regardless their age or skin condition. 


This procedure allows your doctor to identify how much tissue needs to be treated, how much tissue is available, and what type of results clients can expect.

Who is it perfect for?

The Forma treatment is ideal for people with moderate signs of aging who are not ready for more invasive procedures such as fillers or Botox. It can be used on most areas of the face and body, including the neck, décolletage, underarms and inner thighs.


Essentially, Forma is ideal for those who want to improve their skin's appearance without surgery or fillers, as well as those looking for a non-invasive alternative to laser treatments.



It’s also suitable for all skin types and colors, and is generally used to treat issues such as:


  • Fine lines and wrinkles (around eyes, forehead)
  • Deep lines and wrinkles (cheeks, neck, and decolletage)
  • Fatty deposits (cellulite)
  • Uneven pigmentation (scars or age spots)
  • Acne scars
  • Skin laxity (stretch marks)

For optimal results we recommend 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart but you may also opt for one treatment every 12 weeks depending on how your skin responds to the treatment.

Are there any risks to the Forma treatment?

The risks associated with the Forma Aesthetic Treatment are minimal when compared to other invasive procedures such as plastic surgery or laser treatments. The most common side effects include:


  • Redness
  • Mild swelling
  • Tenderness at the site of treatment
  • Changes in color and skin texture

These side effects usually resolve within 24 hours after your procedure. That said, it’s always important to check with your medical practitioner before starting any new treatment to confirm if you’re the right candidate for it. 

How to prepare for your Forma appointment

Forma has the benefits of requiring very little down time after the procedure is done, and almost zero preparation. While preventing direct sun exposure for 2 weeks before and after each session is important, there’s nothing else you need to do before coming for your appointment. 


While not a requirement, ensuring your using a gentle moisturizer twice a day pre and post appointment is helpful. This is because providing your skin with hydration can prevent any unwanted irritation during and after.

Is the treatment painful?

Forma is virtually painless and offers a relaxing and pleasant experience. A handheld device is used to deliver heat into the deeper layers of the skin to help encourage collagen production. However, since heat regulates automatically to prevent negative long lasting effects, most patients find the procedure quite gentle.
